Question Mpg problem???

I have the stock air filter housing with a k&n filter. And I recently just put a 50 series flowmaster muffler on, exhaust is completly stock except for the muffler swap, I am only getting like 15-16-17mpg at 70 mph on flat highway. There is a horrible lag in throttle response, but it was there before just not as bad. I am runnning the new mobil-1 0-20 weight synthetic oil that meets and exceeds the 5-20 weight standards. What about throttle body? Truck has 80,000 miles?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

CAI and throttle body spacer....fixed my lag and power and throttle response and MPG...and sounds sooo sweet on take off with the flowmaster 50 series. I bought an AIRAID...the same one Jack Roush uses with his mods. Good luck

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor? It could help. ^^Dude, did you really install a throttle body spacer? You honestly like how it sounds??? Just asking...

Do a search on the throttle spacers....you'll see they are a big waste of money on the Fords. No one has posted any positive feedback on them. Not saying it is your problem, but.....

As to your mileage, what size engine do you have? If you're talking about a 5.4, those MPG's are what others here post.

As to the throttle lag, I'd remove that spacer and see if it goes away.
