to add one more bit, my first motorcycle was a 250 Hyosung. ~400 lbs wet was loaded onto the back of my dad's 1986.5 D21 Nissan. The loader was 200 lbs, the bike 400, and the ramps about 40 lbs. That old truck didn't even notice it. Im sure the f150 will be fine.

Thanks everyone - i'd put the bike in diagonal but it would still be a tad too long to close the tailgate. Renting a trailer is an option, but one i'd prefer to have as a last resort. Towing for 14 hours with a crappy uhaul trailer is less than ideal (done it once before and it sucks)


Great to see pics of bikes resting on the tailgate - seeing multiple bikes in the bed and the idea of a fridge resting on the tailgate make me feel a bit more at ease with loading mine up.

IMO diagonal is still the way to go...corner is like a makeshift wheel chock
