Default Motorcraft Fuel Filter

Looking for some help with finding the correct fuel filter for my '06, 5.4L.

It was made late in the model year (March) so if I remember correctly the fuel filter used is different than that for earlier '06 trucks.

Does this sound right? What number Motorcraft fuel filter am I looking for?

Any help appreciated.

The in/out line size (metal tubes on the filters) had a running change during production. 3/8" and 5/16" are the two sizes. My truck ('06) was built in OCT '05 and has the smaller/newer 5/16". The 5.4 and 4.6 fuel filters should be the same.

The newer 5/16" filter is part# FG-1083.

That's perfect. I always take my old one with me because they always give me the wrong one at the parts store.
