I was refering to what you called the "mamoth" piece. Since I used a Mark VIII two speed fan, I installed it in the stock shroud. It fits perfect, anf the stock shroud pulls the air through the entire fan area, much like the stock clutch type fan.

Again, great write up, and glad to see no one here is knocking down any other e-fan setup. Quite a few of these mods turn into a chest beating contest. There are always several good ways to complete a good mod.

Ahh...now that makes sense. And very smart I might add since you are using a single fan. Bet it looks good to.

BF, any chance the Flex-a-lite 32084 would work with the Derale 16759 controller? The NPT would need to be 3/8" not 1/4". Does Flex-a-lite make one that would take the 3/8"? I'm not digging the fin probes on my Troyer set-up. Any thoughts? Would a 3/8 to 1/4 fitting work?

Sawman beat me to it. You will need the adapter. The temp sensor with the painless kit is also 3/8 so i to am looking for one. Advance auto sells them for $4-5.

Quick update. www.autopartswarehouse.com has a 3-5 day processing time. I did not know this upfront. Now I'm a lil ticked off cause the site showed it being avaliable and ready to ship. Wishing now I had just had Summit or Jegs match the price. If I had done that Monday I could have had the flexlite part and the sunpro adapter on my doorstep this afternoon instead of still waiting on a ship date as of Friday morning.

That sucks.

I just received my Fedex tracking number from Summit. It seems my order is supposed to be here tomorrow. That's pretty fast. I wish all the other crap I order would get here like that.

BF, what are you using to read/set the temp on your controllers? I used a infrared gun and shot the location on the radiator where the probes go. I set my low side fan to come on at 200 and the high side fan to come on at 210 per Troyer's instructions. Since I'm ditching the fin probes for the ones in the upper radiator hose, what should I do? Could I still set the temps off the same location? Or should I shoot them in there new location? What do you think? I'm a novice so any advice would be appreciated. I'm kinda learning as I go.

You did good. I'm pointing the infared at the upper spout (inlet) on the radiator since it sees the hot fluid released by the thermostat first. This can also be done by hand for those who don't have an infared or a lazer temp gun. Start the truck cold and wait for it to warm up. Keep your hand on the upper radiator spout. When the thermostat opens this area will instantly become hot. Your fans should come on at 50% as soon as this happens. Then set the high side 5-10 degrees higher by turning that adjustment screw just a little further. The high setting should however be checked with an infared or lazer asap.

Btw I canceled my order from autowarepartswarehouse.com this morning and reordered the flexlite hose adapter and sunpro sensor adapter from Summit. Stuff will be here in no time.

Correction to the above: The Sunpro 7555 adapter did not work. It was a 1/4 npt to a 3/8 flare and the temp sensor needs a 3/8 NPT. So you need this http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13184326016841
