Motorcraft Efans on 04-08 Pics & Vid

I have searched all over the forum for more info on the Derale controllers.. Ive seen a few people mention using them them but no real reviews with the motorcraft fans. I got a brand new Derale controller from a friend on a trade, so for free basically. It says only 35 amps max and these fans are rated for 70amps correct? Will this hold up to the Motorcraft fans? My other idea was to use the controller and wire up 2 separate 70 amp relays and just use the controller as the signal wire to turn the relays on. I wouldnt see why that wouldnt work. That would pull very few amps from the controller itself.
Thanks
Thanks

Hello Blown Ford,
I'm about to kick start this project.
I have a few questions for you just to summarize where everything supposed to go, so the next person will have all here in one page. Like you I bought the Painless controller and Motor-craft fan.
1/ What temperature did you set yours at 50% and 100%
2/ Where and which wires did you tap in for the Speed cut-off and the A/C signal?
It'd be greatly appreciated for your help.
Wish me luck guys.
Time to tear down!

Quick update. The fans are down to $125 at Tasca. Here's a link. Mine have been running 3yrs strong. No regrets here.

I'm so sorry. I didn't see this post. I actually visited it today to post a link for the fans which have been marked down. Setting the temp was easy. I simply had the fans come on 50% as soon as the t-stat opened. This can be done by placing your hand on the upper rad hose while the truck is warming up. The hose will become hot rapidly when the t-stat opens. When this happens set the screw to turn the fans on. The 100% setting I made with the set screw just slightly beyond the 50% set screw. The A/C signal I will have to go out and look at. I don't remember what color it was.
That's a good way to set the 50% E-fan ON. But, since I have an edge Evo programmer I set the 50% ON at 195 F from the engine cooling temp. And like yours for the 100%.
AS for VSS I think I tapped it behind the radio I think the color is Gray with white stripe but not sure now.

I just switched to a thicker radiator which was an option on our trucks. 04-08. Having the radiator allowed me to take some pics of the mounting which some may find helpful. You will also see how I secured the bottom without making brackets.
Broad view.
Lower tab on efans shaved to allow for lower support without making brackets. See next 2 pics.
As you can see the clip on the radiator and modified support on fan mate together nicely. This holds the bottom of the fan assembly tight and prevents you from needed to make additional brackets.
On the passenger side the upper mounting matches perfect. But as described early on in the thread the driverside does not. So below are pics of how to solve this.

Nice find for anyone looking to do this mod or wanting to get away from a temp sensor stuck in the fins. Much better price then the Flex-a-lite part I used.
