Default motor noise when headlights are on?

I bought a used mint condition 2007 F-150 Lariat Supercrew at a Denver dealership a couple weeks ago. It came from an AZ auction. Since I brought it home I've noticed that when the headlights are on there is a very noticeable whirring noise that stops when the headlights go off - manually or automatically. It is coming from the engine compartment - seems it's somewhere on the right side of the block but I can't pinpoint it. I thought I'd ask here if this is normal before I take it to Ford and be charged for a diagnosis - over the phone, they have no idea. I'm concerned it's not normal and that something will eventually fail while I'm out driving (lights at night would not be a good thing to fail).

Do you have LED headlights? Could be the fans on the back of the LED bulbs. Mine do that all the time and it's normal.

100% sounds like LED heads with fans.

I'm 90% sure that's what it is. Sound coming from headlight area on both sides. Haven't verified by looking at the bulb through the lens yet.
