More Power

I have a 2006 f150 xlt with the 4.6l v8.. I know i can get more power from chips and intakes, but what elece can i buy to get more power thats cheaper than the chips, and intake? Thanks in advanced

Regear is an option, cams are out there, throttle bodies for 04 to 06, super charge it, new plugs always makes a difference, headers, exhaust, hi flow cats.

Most of those are sorta cheap in the sub 400 range..

pacesetter headers are cheap and give the biggest hp jump. you will need a tuner tho and you might as well put highflo cats(or none) and good exhaust on too and a cold air intake

I've been thinking about doing some performance upgrades. Not quite sure what I want to do yet. Not even sure what I want to upgrade yet! But I appreciate the thread. I'll keep looking.

bassmaster, my truck is the same as yours. when i bought it, it had a cai and just a flowmaster muffler. I put a edge evo tuner on it and it great plus it comes with the pod for your dash to mount it in.

later im thinking about doing headers and a flowmaster y-pipe on it. the factory y-pipe chokes it down pretty bad.

if you've got any sort of mechanicin' know-how, you could probably figure out how to adapt a newer 4.6 Mustang supercharger onto the engine. There's no off-the-shelf kit for the 4.6 in the F150 though.

Going with a programmer, heads and cams and headers will probably even out with customizing and fabbing a supercharger kit, but you'll make more power with the s/c.

A turbo will fit with no problems... It's also the cheapest bang for the buck IMHO.
Here is some examples of remote mounted turbos... The last 3 pics are from a lifted 2005 ford f150 4.6L....

Remote mounted turbo! I would not want to take that thing off roading or mudding.
