Smile mods to increase torque

hey guys im looking to do some mods to increase torque on my 2004 f150 5.4. i've read a lot of forums and people always say tuner, cai, exhaust and gears. so i was wondering if there is anything else i could do? has anyone tried intake manifold spacers and if so was it worth it?

Intake spacers like a throttle body spacer? Those just lighten your wallet.

Gears, long tube headers, cams, blower.

CAI and a tuner isn't going to do much for you to be honest.

Our trucks have a variable length runner system already in place. Intake volume is constantly adjusted by the ecu. Gears & tuner would be best bang for your buck. Our trucks are just so heavy.

Gotcha. The f150 manifold is 1 piece. I am familiar with those spacers. Was going to do some for the maxima. I got a box of parts left over lol.

Agreed with an earlier poster that these trucks are so darn heavy. Gears and a programmer make the biggest bang right away.
