Default Modifying 2wd front rotor/bearing to separate components

Folks,

I thought I remember seeing a thread where someone bought parts to modify a 2wd front bearing/rotor (where the bearing is pressed into the rotor), to a separate bearing and rotor design like is on the 4wd models, but I can't find the thread? Could anyone help me?

I believe the poster coded the parts, bought a centric hub, and maybe picked them up at Rock Auto?

My front rotors are already warped, causing vibration, and they are less then 30k miles old...I want heavier rotors, maybe motive, and just want to get rid of this ridiculous pressed bearing assembly if I have to change out the rotors...

Thanks in advance.

I got my Centric conversion kit from Amazon. With free shipping it was cheaper than Rock Auto or any other place due to the heavy shipping weight. Centric part #120.65128 includes rotor, hub, and nut.

Agreed! Amazon is the way to go. I, too, just got mine there last month and installed them. While some places may have better prices on the kit, the shipping there is usually a killer. Amazon was the best deal for me.

Excellent! Is the Centric rotor a decent part? Is it less likely to warp? Do the calipers need any adjustment?

Does anyone know of a video of this process?

Thank you for your assistance.

My experience thus far is positive. All parts seem to be of very good quality, and the kit get's pretty positive reviews. I had to make no adjustments whatsoever. The only minor headache I had was getting my right side rotor off. It took some hammer persuasion. Start looking for a torque wrench to borrow. The spindle nut has to be torqued to 295 lb/ft.

It was pretty straight forward take of the old and put on the centric in reverse order. I couldn't find a torque wrench that would read high enough to borrow from anyone or the parts place. I tightened the axle nuts with a cheater bar and took it to a tire store I frequent and they torqued the two axle nuts to spec. for free.

Did the conversion about a year ago and have zero complaints. Also replaced rear rotors at the same time. Both original sets of rotors had about 110,000 miles. The centric kit and the new rear rotors totally eliminated the vibration I had when braking

As another question, where the crap can I rent a 295 ft/lb torque wrench? WTH?

Edit.. Sorry for the question, for some reason, your responses didn't get to me...but I am still without that torque wrench...what a hassle.

Don't have a relationship with a tire place, so what is the option for the nut?
