Default The Mod Bug Bit Me

I recently did an 8 rib pulley/belt swap on my Whipple charged F150. That led me to want to clean up the engine bay more and increase cooling for the super charger. So I designed an intercooler tank with 5 liters of capacity to fit down in front of the windshield washer fluid reservoir. This replaces the 2 liter tanl that sat behind the radiator and butted up to the valve cover. Here's the early pics.

And here is the completed work. I used a 3" cap from Earl's for filling. This will allow me to dump ice in with ease when I drag race.

Just stop it! Your engine bay looks cleaner than new. And now you have a big empty space where the old tank was.

Patent that part and sell them...

Wish I could. Wouldn't be enough demand. Thanks for the compliment. I've enjoyed building the air intake, adapting the 90mm throttle body, modding the GT500 heat exchanger to fit, doing the 8 rib setup, and now this intercooler tank. It's a lot of fun modding a truck they don't make many performance parts for. Love the challenge.

Here's a video of the 8 rib setup.

Thanks for the offer buddy. I've been talkin to Gord-Ford about a large front mount so probably won't need a 5lt tank. Maybe a 3lt thou.

Has that truck been sitting since it was purchased? That engine bay is cleaner than my dining table.

That would be easy to do. My tank is 10" deep which is the max depth for the location. So making it 8" would give 4 liters, 6" would give 3 liters. Let me know if you change your mind.

I doubt I will ever run 5 liters. 3 will be the most. The space will be for ice whenever i race.
