Hey guys I was hoping for a little help here, I'm stumped and I'm about ready to throw in the towel. I have a 05 F150 5.4 FX4X4 that I bought brand new and now I have a problem at wide open throttle miss and it's not throwing me any codes. It had 180,000 miles on it when one of the phasers failed so I went if to replace them and and now I have this problem. I replaced all the parts with genuine OEM Ford Parts ….Replaced the Timing chains, sprockets, guides, tensioners, phasers, oil pump, water pump, cam sensors, VCT valves, Injectors, Spark plugs, Coil packs, Air cleaner and Fuel filter I also changed the oil, oil filter (I've always used Mobil 1 5w20 from day one) and cleaned the map sensor,
It runs and idles just fine until I step on it when getting on the highway, passing a car, or going up hill, At WOT it acts like its surging for gas or it's misfiring on a couple of cylinders. It "kicks in and out" and when it does kick in it runs great like it's running on all 8 cylinders.
My next step is to reset the PCM which I'm going to do tonight. Anyone had a problem like this ? Any help would be much appreciated.

Get a bluetooth OBDII scanner and Torque pro. Find out what cylinder is Missing and go from there.
Really. It is that simple. There are a lot of variables that it could be. We can't diagnose it over the computer.

I agree on the torque pro its the way to go .What you are describing is misfires . A hill etc bucking . Clean all cop connections and tabs on cops . I assume they are oem . Did you replace all boots and do a hosp clean plug job . Its best to clean out carbon in tip area of cyl or it can break plugs going in and out and that means misfires .

Get the torque pro ,look under test results . If you have completed drive cycles it will list by cyl raw computer counts towards setting a CEL . Ford has a high threshold .It will also tell you how many counts at which it will set cel . Just because a plug is new doesn't mean its not bad . If you keep clearing codes you will also lose your drive cycle completion. Cels will go away after so many cycles with out a problem.
