might sell xlt...what 150 to buy next?
Had one of my fellow army buddies who just got back from OEF and offered 14k strait up today for my truck. I just kbb'd my truck and in the condition its in its worth 13,700. If i do accept his offer I dont know what to buy next, ive been looking at 07-08 fx4 and lariat. I'm personally the kind of guy who needs doesnt leather or anything too extravagant. I'm leaning more toward an fx4 because it seems more like an off-road style truck compared to the lariat. Does the fx4 have the auto-locking rear diff? Input on the pros and cons and to what you guys have and what you like about your fx4 or lariats will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Either one would be fine as long as the engine build date is after nov 9 2007 because of the the spark plug issue. As for the locking diff, there isn't one offered the 04-08, only in the latest models as far as I know. Only a limited slip.(which can still be very useful)

2008 F150 4X4 Lariat
I have had both. I had an 04 FX4 and now I have an 08 Lariat. I loved the FX4 and I love my current truck. After having them both I think I will stick with the lariat. I take it off road all the time and it will do everything my FX4 would. I didn't think I needed the luxury interior either but after having it I can't imagine going back. It kind of spoils you. Hope this helps.

I was in the same boat as you about 2 weeks ago and i picked up a 04 lariat 5.4 4x4. Now i did look at some 04-06 fx4 but price is why i went with the 04 lariat. I didnt see thing diffrent from the fx4 and lariat 4x4's and my 2 cents about the build date thing before 07 is dumb. If you buy a truck with stock plugs factor that in same with the cam phasers. And if you buy from someone who knows whats up most of the time they have are allready replaced plugs and phasers. Its seems like people get pretty high horsed about this dumb 07 or newer for the 5.4. ITS CALLED BASIC MAINTENANCE. Now I'm not attacking anyone just giving my 2 cents about the whole 07 or newer thing for the 5.4s. Hope this helps.

Im not trying to insult anyone. If anyone does feels that I insulted them Im truly sorry. That way not my intention. Now reading it agian I can see how it could be taken as an insult. I could have worded that a whole lot better.
