Metco Overdrive pulley

Question
I'm supposed to get my pulley in tonight...I still have the stock fan in place. Is it absolutely necessary that I remove the fan and shroud etc? What's the best way to remove the existing balancer? I have no impact gun just breaker bar and alot of muscle 😀.Can I put my automatic in gear to hold the balancer?
I will I'll be getting a puller as well ...
Thanks for any suggestions.

You shouldn't need the ac pulley wrench.
Outside of that you will need to grind just a little bit off of the timing cover for the pulley to fit. Not to much. Very little. Also I would remove the shroud as it will be a real pain if you don't.

As for holding engine still look on the driverside of the engine and trans bell housing. You'll see a black rubber boot filling a spot where a starter could be mounted. Pull it off, spin engine until a torque converter nut can be seen. Then put a socket and extension on the nut. Now turn the engine a little more until the socket and extension are pinned against starter hole. She won't move any further.

Yessir. We can compare notes I'd really like to see your ride up close, I've not seen a whipple blown beast, I also have 4.56's and a trutrack, but I went down and run the stock size FX4 wheel/tire. I'd be happy to give you a ride

Scobar what part of town you in? I'm currently up off of Dublin and Powers. That would be cool to meet up. I have been searching for truck clubs or just a bunch of guys who like to modify them ya know.
