Maybe my last day as F150 owner
As stated in my other recent thread "need some advice", there is a good chance I will be trading in my beloved truck for a 2005 F350. I am looking for input and advice on the situation, and any other helpful tips anyone might have to put me in the right direction. I hate to leave my truck, but my work demands for something more. I dont know how to insert a link to the other thread, but the potentially new truck is here: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb. I am hoping to get an even trade. Let me know what you think about the situation. Thanks to all.

I am part of a landscape company - we do design, construction, installation, and maintenance. We also do tree trimming and many other associated jobs. For more specifics, check out the other thread I just posted about this. Thanks again for the responses.

That engine looks very clean and well taken care of, the interior is in good conditions to. I think you will be making a fine deal and if yout take care of the truck you can get another 250K outta that diesel
Edit: also when you go to look at the truck, take a little refrigerator magnet with you not a strong one where you might scratch the paint but a strong enough one that it will stick to the metal and let you detect bondo anywhere. Go over the entire truck and check for damage, seen many people start adding things on their truck and finding body damage and other things they didnt know about when they bought it. Most recently my friend was debadging his chevy 2500 and he took off the stock rocker panels and found rust had eaten through the paint and body where someone didnt bondo some damage properly.

get ready for a rough ride...i just went from an 07 f250 to my 150 and have not looked back since. make sure your 6.0L has a warranty...it will need an egr delete and new head studs installed, especially if you are going to be towing. You CAN bullet proof those engines to run forever, but it will require at least $1500 to get that engine right.

Thank you all for your input. Txoutlaw, I am very glad to hear that report - I have my reservations about that engine, but I figure 165k miles are enough to get the major things straightened out. I will find out the detailed history and other specifics when I go in tomorrow. I tow everyday, and especially with the new trailer I will be bringing back from Georgia this weekend (8.5'x20', 3500 lbs empty) , I need a very solid tow vehicle. Keep it coming - thanks again.
