Need help..3rd LED brake lights
Just bought a 3rd LED brake light for the truck. The install was okay but the operation of the light is giving me a head ache. Simple install, remove old brake light assembly, install new one. Installed rear bed lights into the new brake light assebly and for the brake LED lights, remove 3rd brake light bulb and plug in the LED light adaptor to where the bulb was for the brake light.... Simple enough. So tested the brake lights last night and held the brake pedal down with a bar to inspect the rear, yup hella bright and they work..."BUT" when the brake pedal is not pressed, I noticed that on the 4 left LED's on the 3rd brake light stays 'dimly illuminated....why!!! This is suppose to be a easy install..I heard somewhere a load resistor is required..any suggestions would be appriciated...

I changed out my reverse light bulbs with LED Bulbs from SuperbrightLED.com and noticed something similar, but only after I have had the bulbs on. After a while the faint light fades away.
Take a look at night before you touch the brakes. If it is dark, I wouldn't worry.
Hope my .02 cents helps

A load resistor is needed in mist cases because the led's draw less amperage they have a tendency to stay very dimly lit, it won't cause your battery to drain so it isn't really a concern unless it bothers you visually otherwise I don't worry about it with any if my vehicles
