it might be a little while before I do it. I just bought the truck the other day. I'm in the process of finding nerf bars so the wife doesn't have to run n jump in. I've got a shop that can do it but I have to find the time. I will post after pics.

I set up the appointment for tomorrow. Just talking to them over the phone, they said the same thing as this quote "20 will cure to 17%"---she said that with this effect, the front will appear to be darker than the back!!! WTF!!! They suggest going 35% on the front two but it's my decision. Now I'm not sure what to do.

I'm not sure what state regulations are there but in Texas the legal limit is 25% that's prob why she wants you to do 35%. As far as the 17% when cured its not that much difference, what I mean by that is the back prob reads more like 16-18% on a light meter so it's not a noticeable difference. Oh and by the way I'm a tinter here in Texas for Wally's auto tint.

Sweeeeeet!!! It's good to hear from someone who installs this. The law here is 35% on the front, but this shop will do whatever I want. I had a Nissan Maxima with 20% all the way around and it looked great. I did get pulled over by a newby cop but got a warning, and then never bothered again. My only concern is that I didn't want the front two to be darker than the rest of the truck. From what your saying it's not that noticable??? I have a black interior so I think that 35% would probably do just fine. I will talk to the actual guy who installs it tomorrow when i drop the F150 off and see what he thinks.

I would totally recommend doing the 35% film, with black interior it will look darker, from my experience. What we usually do and recommend is 35% on the front two doors and if they want the back darker do 20% over the factory privacy glass which comes close to equal to limo in the back without causing viability problems. But if all you want to do us the front 35% will look good and blend well with the back!

Now the legal tint in Minnesota is like 50% percent but I want to do 35%. Do you think I will get bothered or probably not?

Legal limit on the front here is 35% which is what I went in wanting (coming from a loud, red Mustang I wanted as little trouble from Johnny Law as possible). But they talked me into 20% and I'm happy I did. It matches the back ALMOST perfectly. It's just a tiny bit lighter and also a tiny bit "cooler" (the front is slightly bluer, factory rear tint is slightly warmer/redish, only noticeable on the inside if you're really paying attention). 3M Premium film.
