Default HOUSTON we have a PROBLEM

2008 F-150 2WD V6 44,000 easy miles. Engine runs smooth but will not go past 3000 rpm in drive, park, or neutral. No Check Engine Light. Disconnected batt. for 10 mins. no difference. Power is normal up to the point it wont accelerate any more. The problem started suddenly with no symptoms. Any ideas? The dealer want me to throw money at it replacing a bunch of parts starting with the MAF which makes no sense to me. Thanks in advance for your help.

first thing i would try is running it to an autozone or wherever you like and asking to plug into their code reader. this happened to me once with my 04 no code or anything. turned out that I unplugged the MAF sensor when i was playing around under the hood measuring for the GOTTS mod and never got it all the way back in when i plugged it back in. wasn't enough to throw a code but enough to not let it fun
