Take heart @redfishtd. The thread is young - compared to US.

Looks like I'll need another set of head bolts and new phaser and crank pulley bolts.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear after all the work you did. At least it will likely go much quicker this time since you did it already.

This story makes doing timing components alone look like a walk in the park!

High north engines seem to do this condensation in crankcase and every day going from 200deg f to zero that night hell on engine .
Who wants to do oil change in winter in canada. Your short trips and not changing more frequently than 4 months won't work .
Odds are you can fix her. .
Fixed that for you.

Found a couple hours this weekend to put in and think I'm good.

Poured in the oil/MMO and did the prime procedure for 15 secs and she sounded very smooth and in time.

Turned the key without pedal to floor and she fired up instantly. Quickly turned off as with floor dry under the truck it quickly made the air quite dusty. Sounded quite good for the 5 seconds she was running.

Had to leave right after that to attend a birthday party but will get back at it this evening to finish up. Have to complete a cooling system flush and get that floor swept.

Also have to install a new fuel filter clip as initially, way back before I dove into the engine, I tried installing a new fuel filter without the proper knowledge about those clips and broke the blue clip. Think I need to pull out the remaining bottom piece with needle nose pliers and insert the new pink one.

Yeah, I did that, too. There are two sizes possible: 5/16" and 3/8". Parts store always gives me the one that's too small.

i didn’t know you can replace the clip itself. I read that the whole unit has to be replaced.

They had them at the parts stor, I think it was either O'Reilly's or RockAuto.

You're talking about that plastic thingie at the one end, right? they pull out of the housing with a little coersion. new ones slip in.
