Lots of questions
Alright so I'm about to hit 100K miles on my 04 XL 4x4 5.4 this summer and I would like to do a lot of general maintenance things to keep this truck runnin' solid for me for quite a few years to come. I've been reading a lot of different topics but I still have some questions.
1. What is the best tool for changing plugs? Amazon has these:
Along with this tool:
Is the tool a helpful addition?
2. Should I change the PCV valve? My repair manual suggests that I do so but when I called the ford dealership they said that the valve only comes when you buy a complete valve cover assembly.
3. I want to change the shocks out, as far as I know the originals are still on and they don't ride that good. I just want to replace them with a shock that rides really good, The truck rarely leaves pavement.
4. Besides changing all the Fluids and filters what else should be changed out? I changed the belt last summer. Are there any sensors or anything I should be aware of?
Thanks in Advance!

Those tools for the spark plugs are the best to use. Hopefully you won't need the first one. Here's a good thread on the spark plugs. https://www.f150forum.com/f4/spark-p...ig-deal-30648/
The PCV can be replaced without the valve cover.
I don't know which shocks would make it ride better. I wouldn't mind having mine ride better too.
When you change the fluids and filters, make sure to use the secommended fluids noted in the owners manual. The coolant too.

I ordered the K-tool extractor sets from rockauto.
Alldata agrees with the dealer on the PCV Valve, and Rock doesn't have any PCV valves for our trucks. Do you have a part number on this seperate PCV valve?

On the Motorcraft site, it shows only with the valve cover. I never researched this before since mine is still low mileage. I'm sorry about the confusion. When I searched the RockAuto site, I hit the 4.6 by mistake.
