Default Looking for a new exhaust system.

I'm looking to get a little more sound out of the exhaust on my 2008 F150 5.4L, I looked at other exhaust posts and didn't find what I was looking for. I'm looking for a deeper sound, but I don't want to break the bank or be annoyed at the rumble when cruising down the highway(and still want to hear my radio without problems). Thanks for any advice.

take a look at flowmaster or magnaflow's websites and check out their mufflers, they should have a sound clip so you can hear them. i'd keep it inexpensive and just buy a muffler and get a local shop to install it. much cheaper than entire systems

Sounds like you were looking for the same thing I picked up for mine a few months ago. Can barely hear it at 55-60mph, noticeable on the freeway but not too loud.

I believe this was the kit I ordered.

Getting the just muffler sounds good, which one would you suggest? I listened to sound clips but I don't feel it gives you a true idea of what it will be like inside th vehicle at highway speeds. Like I said I'm worried about it being too loud in the cab when driving on long trips (which I take frequently)

The in-cab sound will also depend on where the muffler is placed. So furthest back possible would help your situation probably.

I have a glasspack in the stock position and have it dumped before the tire. In cab with windows up it is noticeable at wot, but not to the point of having to turn my phone or stereo up. With the windows down, its a different story if there is a guardwall or another vehicle beside me...then the sound is pretty darn loud. Has a nice low idle that is there butnot too loud. A magnaflow would sound good but wont be very loud at all with a full length exhaust.

I have the cherry bomb vortex muffler in stock position with full length dual exhaust. Sounds awesome and not much drone on highway until you step on it to pass someone. Here's a video of it.
