Question Looking to buy new rims but have question?????

I am looking to buy new rims for my truck, I am looking to put on fender flares, so I'm looking for rims that will stick out more to sit flush with the wider fender flares. I just spent the last two hrs reading about offset and backspacing and I'm more confused now then when I started. Could someone please explain it to me or tell me what backspacing and offset I need to get the rims to stick out 2" further the sit flush with the fender flares.

I think I might of just figured it out if someone can confirm it for me. If I got a wheel that has 5.5 back spacing like the stock wheel and I got a wheel with the same 5.5 back spacing but went from the stock wheel size of 17x7.5 to a 17x9 the wheel would stick out a 1.5". Am I correct with what I'm figuring???????

That would be 3/4 of an inch on each side

Im running a 4.5" BS(-12 offset) on a 18x9 inch wide wheel. Made my tires stick out about 2-2.5 inches.

Depends on what size tire you have as well. The tire width will help you reach farther out as well.

Yeah. I wasn't thinking about the tires to. But could you help me in how much further the rims would stick out. And also looking at this rim to its 18x9. Offset +0 backspacing 5. Could you also help me in determining how far this rim would stick out.

The tire I am looking on running would be a 33x12.50

That combo would look great...im thinking it would stick out 1.5" from stock. You would be gaining 1" of backspace, .5" of rim, and 1.5" of tire. Divide all that by 2, since the gains would be on both sides of the wheel, and it is about 1.5".

You will also have minimal trimming if any with this tire/wheel combo.

Ok. Thanks. So your saying the 18x9 +0 offset with backspacing 5 would work great or where u talking about the 17x9 rim +15 offset and 5.590 backspacing?

Just a little confused what rim you where referring to.
