Looking to buy a 2004 f150 couple buying questions
Im looking at a 2004 Ford F150 Lariat my biggest concern is the mileage 194,108 its got the the 5.4l.
Would you be concerned with this?
What do I need to be looking for with this mileage/ year model → ie. What would be worn out, or common problems with this year model or with this many miles. Its priced at $8800 before tax and tag would you suggest holding out or would this be a good truck?
Thanks all, Shadow

Not sure what blue book is, but 8800 for a truck with 200K is pretty steep in my opinion... especially on a gas engine. I know others might disagree though.
My main concern with any vehicle over no matter what the mileage is that it has service records that show fluids were changed on time. No records, No deal. unless you feel you are getting a steal and can deal with some issues.
Depending on what you want, 8800 can get you a truck with less miles, just maybe not as many bells and whistles, Or it can be a pretty decent down payment on a used newer used truck and you might be able to get a low interest loan for the rest.
I'm new to this forum, but just picked up a 2004 XL with 130k for 2900 (exact blue book for good condition private party sale). . Of course this is bare bones compared to a lariat... but it all depends on what you want to use your truck for? I needed it for work.

I would never buy an 04 with 200k miles on it ... Unless it came with extensive maintenance records

Find a nice 08 with an engine build date of 10/9/07 or later... or a low mileage and well maintained 06/07
