Default Looked at a truck today

Hey guys, I finally wen't out and looked at a truck again today. I recently sold my 04 f150 Scab XLT with intentions of upgrading. After a couple of months of looking I finally found something that sparked a bit of interest.

Anyways I wen't to this small dealer out of what appeared to be a storage unit (Being serious here).. When looking the truck over I realized that it's been well kept for something with 150k miles. Not perfect but in good condition.

However, on the test drive... about 2-3 minutes in when accelerating from a stop, it seemed to stall"ish" or maybe the transmission wouldnt catch or something? I have no idea what it was but it happened twice from a start. It would last maybe 2 seconds or so before it would get up and go. I kept trying to make it happen again but nothing happened.

When talking to the dealer about he of course he said he's never experienced it before and that maybe it's just cause it hasn't been driven in a while.

What are you're thoughts..?? I liked the truck so much that I scheduled a Pre Purchase Inspection on the truck at a small shop I trust. Here's a link to the truck with some pictures.

I would have them let you take it home for a couple days and have a couple other shops check it out with that many miles you never know what could be wrong with it. I personally would never guy a gas engine with that many miles unless it was a diesel but thats just me.

good luck on your purchase!

Oh, just to clarify The Pre Purchase Inspection is on monday. I haven't bought the truck yet. I'll make an offer depending on what my mechanic says.

Yeah I am with Average Joe on this...The mileage would worry me a bit..The biggest thing is the tranny. You HAVE to make sure that the tranny was taken care of and that you notice ZERO imperfections with it...I have heard of guys getting over 200,000 miles on a stock tranny but its not the most common thing you will find. It does look like a clean truck though. I would go down a bit in price like Hunttman says...although doubt you can get it under 10.
