Don't know if the pics on my PM, so here they are again. Mine doesn't have any seperate input either. From what i remember from when i had the stereo out, It's just part of the stock wiring harness. I say if you find a wire that fits it, plug it in and see if it works.

Hmm, the 4 pin (only 4 used) shows subwoofer to me.

See the attached diagrams, maybe these will help? The only thing is, does it have to be enabled somehow or can you tie into it and the deck will detect the signal? Anyways, I've circled the wires my diagrams show me.

I think that particular piece is a Ford-only part, as I have never found anything like it when I wanted to run an auxiliary plug into the center console on my 2008. Radio Shack does sell an audio jack with a common ground that will work (wire the white and pink wires together), but nothing will fit that holder under the dash tray except a Ford part. Someone said it wasn't a standard hookup until 2007 or 2008 with the audiophile system.

Did you read over the link I posted? It explained a lot of similar information you're looking for. That harness coming from your line in (and tray) should have been part of the OEM wire harness that went into the C290B Plug. There will be 4 wires that go into it, and the ones your circled (6,7,8,14) are the correct ones.

I know for certain that the 07 and 08 radios will work if you splice into those wires the correct audio signal, and will work by pressing aux (line in) on the radio. Since your radio wasn't wired from the factory to be into that harness and its an 06 truck, I'm not sure if it will or not.

Can you remove that plug from your radio and see if there are any pins in the slots for the audio? If there are, just go back down the wires a little bit and splice in your harness coming from the above line in

Hey bluebullet10

I just read through ur posts again and was wondering on the 07 and 08 decks where the line in cable plugged into, the back of the deck itself or into a connection on the wiring harness? I pulled my dash apart and noticed there were two grey square connectors on the wiring harness, could one of these be for the connection from the line in jack on the dash?

So sorry phunnel, I just looked at your pics again on my laptop instead of ipad and must have missed seeing that unused grey plug in the bottom of the picture. If you have 2 plugs not being used I think there's a good chance one of them might be for plugging in that dash line in plug.

The other one (pretty sure) is for adding the sirius radio module. I know that a lot of trucks in the 06 model were prewired for sirius and the dealer had option of adding the module on the lot. That's how my friends 06 is wired. My guess is maybe they did the aux dash tray in a similar fashion in that all trucks come prewired and dealer could order or add on the feature. Maybe yours just never got hooked up. I'm hoping for your sake that's the case!

I know for certain that the sirius plug in is tied on the back right side of the dash frame (looking at the radio from the cab) on the rear right side of radio.

Have you tried plugging the line in dash cable into the other plug (assuming they match up) and hooking up your phone / iPod, press aux and see if any sound plays ?

Phunnel, I just called my friend that has an 06 and asked him to take some pics of his radio wires. He does not have the line in aux tray but did have two grey plugs like you described. One (which I knew from before) was for the sirius radio add in on the right side. His has sirius so that one is being used. He also had another unused grey plug on the lower left side that looks factory zip tied to a harness that goes into the radio. Only thing that bothers me is that I don't think that small black plug will go into (or is a match) to the grey plug.

Still assuming that the line in tray was an option feature in 06, you might have to buy a patch harness that one end fits the grey plug, and one end fits the black plug. For the sirius add on that's how it works. For The cable harness for the sirius module one end goes into the grey and one end into the sirius box. But doesn't really make sense why they would require an extra plug.

First pic is unused plug on lower left side.

This picture is looking above sirius radio module and under radio on back right side

If you can wait till the weekend, I'll take mine apart and give you the wire piece... I took my stock head unit out and sold it, so I don't need the wire any more. And the back of your radio looks just like my stock did... See pics in my profile. Pm me if you want it.

Hopefully this thread will clear up what you're looking for... Both of us successfully added the STOCK line-in port on our trucks...
