Limited Slip Codes
Hello everyone,
My '99 F150 has 146K on it so I'm looking to buy an 04 -06 and I want to find one with a limited slip diff. Can anyone tell me the code that I would look for on the rear end. Is the code located anywhere else on the truck? Be nice not to have to crawl under!

Can't find my handy-dandy decoder web page, but essentially the rear axle has a two-digit code. If one of those digits is alphabetic (versus both being numeric), then it should be limited-slip.
Not sure about newer trucks, but the information tag inside the door jamb should list the axle code. Also, there is likely a build sheet used at the factory - mine was tucked up under the seat in the springs.

do 04 lariats have an option for a limited slip if they are 4 wheel drive? I did a burn out the other day and i got 2 black lines so im assuming it does have a limited slip? and the axle code will be L it is the 7th digit on the axle I am just being too lazy in wanting to go under my truck and looking at the axle.
