Default Light throttle in OD - trans seems to "skip"?

Only in OD, when moving, the trans seems to momentarily free-wheel for about 1/2 second, then back and normal. Only happens once or a second time, then done. Does not do it in any other gear. Trans fluid is at proper level.

Any thoughts?

Truck has 93,000 miles, maintained, not beat on. Fluid & trans service 15K ago.

Mine acts funny sometimes too. I suspect my coils more than my trans. Slight misfiring can feel like a trans issue.

Unless you have already checked them you should first suspect the boots and springs. Coils rarely go bad.

Replaced when I did the plugs. At 230k miles, I'm waiting for a hell of a lot more than a bad coil.

Mine does the same thing. When shifting into OD, it may hang on the gear, then freewheel (goes up about 500 rpm), then finally shifts into OD. It's done this as long as I can remember, so I'm not worrying about it. I'm thinking it's something with the tq converter....but my fluid is always clean and it doesn't hurt anything. It's not "slamming" into gear, so I'm letting it ride. I'm attributing it to another f150 'quirk'
