From what I've read, the Fram filter is one of the brands that caused the message.

sounds like ill be goin to napa to pick up a MC filter and swap it out with the fram...maybe it will slowly make a difference seems how the sound just started last week...

Yup,same thing here, 90,000 mi. and ticking like a son of a gun. It's got me worried too but,after listening to all these posts I kind of don't give a crap anymore. Drive it till it dies then put in a new ticker.

60,000 on mine and I've got the 5.4 tick. Like a lot of you have said, my mechanic also says it won't hurt anything and to keep driving it. I hate the sound though, guess I'll have to save up for an exhaust to help block the sound out! Lol

These 3v Tritons sound like sewing machines. It's a shame because mine runs well and has good power however just sounds like a clunker.
