Can you guys post more pics of where specifically you mount the antennas?

I have a Cobra 75wxst that I used rarely in my old SUV. I'm just getting around to installing it on my truck now. I ordered new mounts and wire but I'm still trying to figure out where to mount it. So far, I'm thinking of mounting it on my bed buddy with a quick disconnect.

Sheet metal screws through the beeline into the bed... had to drill through to run the coax... trucker mic holder. Need a different cb though

My brackets are in the same holes and location as the factory tie down hooks in the front of my bed.

I just realized this is in the '04-'08 section. Oops. Hope you guys don't mind.

I have a BedBuddy for hauling dirt bikes so I mounted a door jam mount on there and reversed the part that holds the antenna to the inside and attached a QD.

I was going to drill into the bed liner and thru the plastic cap for the antenna wire but decided to just route it over and under the cab to the hole with a rubber grommet. I drilled a small hole in the grommet and sealed it with silicone. I fished the wire thru the wire channel to the front and under the carpet edge to the center where the the control box is mounted. I left the connector sticking out under the kick panel.

Excuse the dog hair.

Why blue? It was from my blue 4runner (pic was taken during a test fit so the cable isn't there).

I forgot to take pics of the final install but I can if anyone's interested. I tested the SWR and it read 1.5 which isn't too bad.

Predator 10K antenna grounded to the trucks frame with a Galaxy 95T2 radio. The radio is hard wired to the battery. The cord you see is for my GPS.

the 102" whip is best matched for CB freqs. thats why most people have them...everyone else likes them because they draw attention every time you hit a tree branch or something. the next best thing is an adjstable fiberglass antenna. that way you can hook up your watt meter and tune it for optimal performance. as far as coax goes, you get what you pay for. the more you pay, they better the performance. just be sure you get coax with PL-259 connectors.
