Why ask again if it's been asked so many times before?

There would be a lot of electrical and programing to make it work. Its not like the old days where you manually lock in the hubs and transfer case. That is all electronically controlled now and all of that stuff would have to be changed as well.

Don't understand these types of questions.. why take apart a 4WD truck and try to put everything on a 2WD truck, when you can just fix the rear of the 4WD truck..I assume its all body damage.. Put the 2WD bed on the 4WD, paint it and call it a day.

As with all the threads you have already seen, it is not a good plan.

Unless you are doing it for the challenge or because you are putting together something super custom, you will come out way behind financially.

To be very frank, if you have to ask, it is way out of your league to do on your own anyway.

All that being said it is your time and money and you can do with it as you see fit.

I'm assuming frame damage.

But agreed, it would take a lot of wiring and reprogramming, unless you got a computer from a 4x4, then programming wouldn't be a problem. Wiring would be a nightmare though in theory, but where there's a will there's a way.

Like Dirttracker said, super custom would be a reason to do it. Like if you converted to 4x4 and did a straight axle swap. But it won't be very easy to direct swap over. You'd need a transfer case, possibly a new transmission (not sure how the t case mates with the transmission), wiring, front driveshaft, front axle, possibly new gears in your rear axle if the gears don't match, new hubs, vacuum lines, etc, etc.

Couple things...

First, I'm not sure how you expect to get an answer when the title of the thread has no relivance to the subject.

Second, if it's been asked that many times, you should use the search function and read previous threads instead of asking the same question.

Third, if you really want to be taken seriously and get answers, trying a little harder with punctuation. Everyone hates reading run-on sentences. They seriously hurt your brain to read.

Lastly, as others have said, it's not worth it. The front end of the frames are different on 4x4 and 2wd trucks. If your friends truck only has rear body damage, put on your bed and paint as others have noted.
