LED's in grille help
I have 3 of the Amber leds from superbrightled and was wondering where exactly I should wire them to after installing in my grille? They have only two wires each (red/black). Thanks for any assistance!

Go directly to the battery. Buy eye lids and crimp the wire, to connect to the battery. Then using 18 gauge wire I'm guessing, buy a wire with a built in fuse for your red. I believe with 18 gauge wire it's a 2.5 amp fuse but you can get away with 5 amp. For a ground they're are multiple spots. Right next to the battery between your engine wall and the battery is a bolt used for a ground, I used that as my last ground. Here is a pic of the parts (ignore the 10-12 gauge, you'll need 18-20). I don't have this particular setup in full but I can provide pictures of another wiring harness that I did this way if you need.

Wiring directly to my battery won't leave them on 24/7 right? I had a thought that maybe I could wire them to my parking lights? (On with parking lights/on when lights are on as well/off when lights are all off)? Just my random thought haha. Why (exactly) would I need a seperate wire with a fuse built in? Sorry for all the questions, I am very curious and learning along the way >.<

I found another thread just now, it seems one of my best bets is to first connect all my LED's together into two wires (one for pos/one for ground) and to run the main wire into a bigger gauge like you mentioned (18-20) and to tie that into my headlights I believe and to obviously ground the black. Sound about right?

Unless of course.... buying the wire with its own fuse and running it to the battery itself.... may solve any popping of the fuse of my headlights if something messes up? Haha... thoughts.... I guess all in all... the battery won't keep the LED's on without the key in right?

just hook them straight to your parking light circuit. theyre LEDs so they dont take much amperage to run. youll be fine. just shave some coating off and splice it in. no need to run it to the battery and have a seperate switch.
this way when you turn your parking lights on they will come on with them.
ive got 5 10mm LED bolts from superbrightleds.com hooked to my parking light circuit, no problems. i would suggest soldering them though. dont just shave, twist and tape.

I have never soldered before lol, any reason why shaving/twist/tape wouldn't be a good idea? That's how I have always done things lol.

Sorry I wrote that when I got back from the bar. So yes I did forget to mention a switch in my line up lol. I actually have my clearance lights hooked up to my running lights so when I turn the switch they come on with my lights. So going into the fuse, when I first did this I didn't put a fuse in and the wire ended up getting pinched and grounding out on metal which melted my running light wire. So ya, got that wire fixed then when I reattached my clearance lights I added the fuse. Rather have a simple fuse pop then my wires melt again lol. It sucked but lesson learned.
The first picture is my clearance lights going to fuse then going to my headlight switch, that just the side panel removed. The second picture is some switches I have in.
