There's a white light that lights up the bed, it comes on when your in reverse and when you unlock your doors.

The white lights in the third brake light only are on when the dome lamps are on...they are not on the reverse light circuit.

I recently changed my cargo and 3rd brake lights out to LEDs. Found some on Amazon for cheap cheap. fit great, look great.. Could be brighter but I'm happy with them just the same.. Also changed out dome and tag lights. All cheap and all easily done. Found some 54-SMD back up lamps on Amazon for less than your ebay link shows for the 18-SMD in the 3156 size. I posted pics in my thread here
