LED license plate bulbs

I've poured over many threads about LEDs and encountered all types of conflicting info about the side effects of LED bulbs. I want to replace my license plate bulbs AND my cargo bulbs in the 3rd brake light with LEDs. I DO NOT want to mess with any type of resistor or deal with any other electrical shenanigans (like the cruise not working).

Are there any bulbs out there for these fixtures that are truly plug and play?

the probem with LED bulbs is they have less resistance which means you ahve to put a resistor or a different flasher in when these bulbs are installed in the sockets for the turn signals/brake lights.

putting an LED in the license plate sockets should not have any ill-effects as those lights do not get brighter or flash. the high mount light might be alright as well, it is a brake light but its on a seperate circuit (should be atleast) from the actual brake lights themselves and shouldnt mess with the cruise control.

im sure someone will pop in here with some more info on the high mount.

I just put blue LED's in for my license plate lights, and they work fine. I bought them off ebay for $3.99 with free shipping. They are just plug and play, took about a minute to change them both.

superbrightleds.com has alot of good lights. I put the led bulbs in my clear cargo lights above the bed in the third brake light and they are bright white and they are awesome.

ijdmtoy.com, superbrightled.com are some sites i have ordred of off.

for licence plate you need a low profile as the lens is small and there isnt alot of space

I replaced all of mine, check my album. The only thing that needed a resistor was the turn signals and I replaced all my lights. They are 100% better than stocks. Go for it
