Default Late model 08 5.4

Ok so I have a 08 f150 5.4 made in December of 07 and it is coming time to change the plugs and I read the sticky about the late model 5.4 not having the same heads but that's the only place I have ever heard the even the dealer didn't no. So what I want to no is

Where that info came form
Why dosnt eh dealer even no about it
What plugs go in it now
Is there a way to tell on the head

Yes. Simply remove one of your coils. If the boot is brown you have the new style heads which feature a 12mm spark plug. Proceed with spark plug change just as you would on any other vehicle. If the coil boot is black then you have the heads which feature a 16mm spark plug thread and due to the design allow carbon deposits to build up around the plug thus siezing it. Upon removal the plug can break. Simply follow the guide lines for removal of this type plug and you will be fine.

In addition you can identify what you have this way "Identifing Your Coils. Engines with late style 12MM spark plugs can be identified by coil engineering number 8L3E printed on the coils. Engines with early style 16mm "High Thread" design spark plugs can be identified by coil engineering number 3L3E."

Be sure to blow out the plug holes after removing the boots prior to removing the plugs. I had 38k on the clock when I did mine...lots of **** in there!
