Default Kleen Wheel Dust Covers. Anybody using em? I have questions. :)

Hi all,

I came across these Kleen Wheel dust covers/guards that protect your wheels from brake dust. I spent quite a bit on a set of BMF wheels and don't want to mess them up by constantly having to wipe them down every 2 days and slowly wearing away the protective coating. They make them in a 20" size and I am thinking about getting a set of 4 for my front and rear wheels. Anybody here use em that can give me some feedback on them? I'm concerned about heat issues(if any) with the brakes. Would love to see some pics of them installed as well if so.

Thanks in advance!

I had them on my 98 F-150 they worked as advertised with no heat problems. On my 02 on 06 I installed Wagner Therma Quite pads and eliminated most of the brake dust.

I have brake dust covers on my 05. Not sure if they are the same kind or not but I love my brake dust covers. Can go about 2-3 months without washing my truck in this cold nasty mess and they are very clean. Looks like I've been riding around on them about a week without the covers. I've not had any issues with mine. My tire guy said you could have issues but mine have been on about 30 weeks and no problems. Couldn't imagine life without them. You can kinda see em in the pic. Just the black between the rim spokes.

I had them on my wife's car. They worked, but looked like ***. Her wheels are a open design, and you could see a lot of it. After I put D/S rotors on it I removed the covers.

Thanks for the feedback! I may look into the Wagner brake pads as well. My wheels are very open and the dust covers might look tacky on my truck. Not quite sure though.

Thanks again!

Just get some ceraMic pads and you will have zero brake dust issues. My fronts used to be black every few days, until I picked up the brakemotive pads/rotors. I'm really impressed with them. And at $212 for all four, they are probably close to the price of the covers.

Are the rotors slotted/drilled?
