Default King Ranch Steering Wheel

Last night was my first attempt at cleaning my 2007 King Ranch steering wheel, which was quite disgusting and sticky. I tried to do the spa treatment and then I guess I wiped a little too hard. I wiped a hole through the leather at the top of the wheel.

Does anyone have experience with replacement wheel covers for a King Ranch or any recommendations? Thanks!

When I bought this '04 Lariat last year, about 3" right at the top of the wheel was pretty shredded. I'm thinking the previous driver wore several rings … or he was a real nervous type that was always wringing his hand on the wheel

Anyway, I searched Amazon using the words " lace on steeringwheel cover leather " and found a bunch of options. Decided I liked this one
https://www.amazon.com/Superior-58-0600B-Superskin-Steering-Genuine/dp/B00029KA8G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1531510602&sr=8-4&keywords=lace+on+steering+wheel+cover+leather https://www.amazon.com/Superior-58-0600B-Superskin-Steering-Genuine/dp/B00029KA8G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1531510602&sr=8-4&keywords=lace+on+steering+wheel+cover+leather

But the next day I stopped in a PepBoys store and found the exact same one for $12.. I used some small pieces of duct tape and some very thin foam sheet I had to fill in the missing foam and it looks like factory.

Just take your time when lacing it up. Gotta keep the lace ends pulled tight or it'll get loose. Yeah I had to UN-LACE a few inches several times to figure that out..

Did this fit over your steering wheel cover, or did you have to remove the original cover?

It fit over my cover. You photo shows a small hole... MINE had almost 3" of the cover missing and some of the underlying foam was gone also. OK, so I just went out and took a few pics. The steering wheel is cocked to the right a bit so I just tried to zoom in on a few areas so you could see how I did the lacing. In the 1st pic you're looking at the TOP of the wheel, and pic 2 is a close up showing it has a few small lumps where the duct tape and foam was added. Pic 3 I tried to show how I did the parts where the 4 "horn forks" attach to the outer ring. Mine is black so the new cover blends in with the original black, you may have to see what colors are available for a match to your King Ranch. Hope this helps.
