Default King Ranch Leather

Hi everyone, I have an '08 F150 KR SCREW. When I bought it, the vehicle was taken care of well, but the leather was not. It does not have any real damage in terms of scratches or tears, but it is very dry and the color has become much lighter than it should be. I bought Saddle leather conditioner right from the KR saddle shop (said it would work for these seats) and it did work pretty well, but not for long. They looked dried out again pretty quick. So I was talking to a coworker who said she uses saddle soap and mink oil to keep her KR seats in good shape. Has anyone else used this or have any other recommendations? I would love to get them back to how they originally looked, but I'm not sure if that is possible.

Thanks!

Well, I don't know how much money you have to spend or what your budget is... and this is probably overkill but I'm just giving you options...

We have a member on here that takes F-150s and turns them into Platinum "style" F150s by replacing what they've got with what a Platinum has. He says all new upholstery for the replacement is $1,000. I'm sure that could be done with a King Ranch.

Appreciate the input, I'm not in a place where I can justify spending a $1,000 on a vehicle I'll probably only have for another 2 years or so. I think I'll probably try to get some leather CPR and then saddle wax it. I ordered Pinnacle's Black label cleaner and conditioner and think I'll try to return it since it was over $70 for the two 8 oz. bottles and it sounds like the leather CPR will do about the same for much less. Anyone use that Pinnacle Black label before? Is it really worth the price?

Thanks

I totally understand. Just trying to add to your option bank.

The KR conditioner is good stuff, but it sounds like your seats are really dried out. Sometimes it takes several applications over a few weeks to get them back where they need to be. I have an 08 as well and if I go more than a few months without conditioner, they get dry stiff.

Since the leather has dried out, it's going to take more than one or two applications of leather conditioner to get them "back". You said they looked good with a first application, so I would continue to use the same product for awhile. It may take several applications until the product can work its way back into the leather and stay longer.

Default Thanks Everyone!

Thank you all for all the input, it has helped a lot! I will go ahead and continue to use my KR conditioner and keep giving it more as suggested. I think once I get them back to where they were or as close as they will get, then I will use the saddle wax to hopefully protect the surface.

Make it a great day,
Jordan

The best stuff I found for leather is called Leatherique. It's a 2 part kit and it's not cheap, but it does work. It takes some time and it's best to use it this time of the year when it's really hot outside.

Leather CPR works great for me. I bought a case from FleaBay and have used about 3 bottles over a year. I use it a couple of times a month, more in the summer.
