Default Hey guys need some help...

Ok i got a Viper 590 remote start installed on my truck. It was not picking up any impacts so they said they would for free throw in the Invisibeam sensor to help pick up things. Long story short, i had to take it back and get them to mount it in the correct place which is the center of the truck... but they couldn't do that right so I'm going to do it myself.

What I could use from someone is... how do you get under the little pad thing on the center of the top of the dash where the input port is. I want to get under the plastic and everything to what I've seen b4 is a piece of medal that sits there... anyone know what kinda temps that bar keeps?

If that's not a good place or just also, does anyone know how i can get under my center console? Id like to get under the cup holders but id be scared of the shifter so id like to get under the cargo box and mount if right under there.

Thanks guys,
Jeremy

If you want to get under the black pad on the dash. You have to remove the trim around the factory stereo head unit and there should be 2 7mm screws that you have to remove and then that black pad will be able to be unclipped from the top of the dash. as far as mounting the invisibeam senors under there, im not sure if you will be able to mount it under there. I just had my dash apart and i cant remember how much room is under there. Worth a try tho. As for getting under the center console im not really sure how to get under there. I haven't tried getting under mine yet.

its all just clips they are pretty hard to get off though. its going to feel like its going to snap. Just go slow and easy with it and you should have no problems. I usually start at the top and work my way never had any problems

Ok, thanks... Yeah that's how it was on my old truck but I wasn't to sure on this truck. Didn't want to go a pulling on anything and it not meant to be pulled on like that lol.

So at the top, right above my head unit, pull where the wood grain piece stops & meets the upper dash, towards me and it should come off?

The sensor..../\

middle of the dash, where i was going to put it..../\

where i put it, straight down from the radio above the a/c tube..../\

It works alot better now that i have it in the center, i still need to play with the sensitivity some. When it rains or i park under a tree it likes to go off. So i have to usually disarm it than lock it with the door keypad. So im going to have them put a kill switch on just the sensor for the rain and such times when it just keeps going off but i still want the alarm to be on.

Hope i can help anyone with any questions...

That is the link to the manual for the 881, i know on mine (viper5901) you hold the 'F' (function) button for 8 seconds. Till it beeps, it will beep after 2 seconds to switch cars, to which I'd ignore. Not sure if yours has a multi car function. But way, I would continue to hold for 8 seconds till it beeps and the options comes up. Cycle through the options to 'Pair Remote'. After that, on your own but I'm sure its pretty simple and the manual can help you out. Hope that helps.

If you cant get it, post again and i can give you a number of a good local shop you could call and a guy to ask who could walk you through it I'm sure.
