I just bought my XLT Scab about 2 months ago and I noticed a blue LED under the dash with a button on the back. I contacted the previous owner and he didn't know what it was either. I took the dash apart under the steering wheel and the wire from the LED went to a box labeled Karr-4040a. I noticed that there are a ton of wires going in and out of it. Upon researching I found that it is an aftermarket car alarm. There are a lot of plugs going in this little box. Is this removable, or does it need to stay for my Ford Remotes to work? THey are factory remotes for the truck. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

I haven't been big into aftermarket system but have had a viper before, I would be careful in removing it as I think some systems can prevent the car from being started if wired to do so. Like I said I don't really know. I would take it to a local sho and have them check it outif you want it removed.
