I have a 2008 with 60,000 and when I asked my dealer he told me I was wasting my money? Said I didn't need it til 75,000. Probably because my warrenty is up at 75,000 and they don't wana be responceable if anything goes wrong after lol. I was excited to throw some amsoil in there but now I'm not sure what to do.

My owners manual said "transmission service" every 30K miles which i have done and no regrets! (I have not changed the filter or dropped the pan but had the dealer do a fluid exchange) Tranny shifts like new! I have heard however if you get behind on the service to leave it alone or when it does get changed it will free up junk that will cause problems. I also have had issues in the past with quick lube places doing the exchange and not using the right fluid these transmissions use Mercon V which I believe is synthetic and anything else will screw them up.

I bought my truck with 163,000 on it , the previous owner did not EVER change the trans fluid , he never did anything to the truck short of every 5-7000 miles he changed the oil . at 164,000 mine got its first fluid change and a new filter , it still had the little plug in the pan from when it was assmbled at the plant , i also put a nice little drain plug in it to make it easer and less messy next time . now it has 167,000 and I plan to change the fluid again next week-end .
