Just the Tip.
I've had a week with this thing: MBRP 3.5" x 12" rolled-edge stainless angle cut tip: http://a.co/4xo6i0q
So far, I like it. It's added enough weight or depth to the stock exhaust tone that I'm not thinking about changing the cat-back any more. Probably should have gone with the square-cut than the slash-cut that I got, that one would growl a little better. But, it's thicker, it's got that turbo-muffler & cats mellow tone, and it looks a whole helluva lot better than the stock pea-shooter pipe.

So it does deepen the tone a bit? I may have to add this to my list on Amazon. Which one exactly do you think would make it growl a little more? and why?

It does make it a little deeper, I can hear a nice muted rumble when I start the truck now.
Sounds pretty good driving around town, nothing that would aggrevate anyone, but still something's there, ya know?
It's a 2.5" inlet, the body is 3.5" x 12". I got this one because it was the easiest to mount. Find one with a square-cut end, that should growl more. There's a whole bunch of acoustical geekery I could dump on you to back that up, but just trust me on it. I bet the square-cut tips of similar size would start sounding a bit 'Italian', if you know what I mean.

I should add: overall length of this one was like 16", body length was 12". That's about as long as you can go from the end of that last bend in the pipe and not have the tip stick out too far. This one fit perfectly to the edge of the bend (there's a little crush on the inside radius, if that makes sense) and sticks out about as far as I'd care for.
Also: Mounting wasn't too bad, but I had to get it squared up and then tap it home with a block of wood and a rather large hammer. Definitely put locktite on the bolt.

Did you cut the stock exhaust pipe and clamp that on I assume?
Or did you just slide it over the stock pipe and clamp it (no cutting of stock exhaust tip/pipe)?

Yeah, I cut the pipe back. Measured the length of the 2.5" section on the tip, marked where I wanted the end of it to be, and cut the stock pipe back to fit.
Now I have about 10" of 2.5" stainless pipe to play with.
*probably shouldn't have said that around SCORGE and NutCase...
