Just got my 04 F150
 

Glad to be moving up to a new model in the forum! Previously been posting in 97-03 for my 98, but just got an 04 V8 5.4L Lariat!

Welcome to hell..... Maybe. Just be ready there ae a lot of flaws in the truck so be prepared

come on man... every vehicle has flaws and following vehicle specific forums, you're gonna get a disproportional number of post regarding problems than long term ownership with out many problems because it's just the nature of things like this... you have a bad experience you tell 10 people, you have a good one and maybe you tell one person.

don't get me wrong I love Lola, my 06 f150 king ranch, and I brag about her all the time. Just there are certain flaws that when you drive it or read about it for awhile become common knowledge (spark plugs, timing chain, ect...) that can be a huge pain to deal with at times. There are nice parts and headaches with every vehicle but 04-06 f150 have very large problems which seem to affect large numbers of people.

I haven't had any major problems with my 06 with 175,000 on it. Don't listen to Tbizcuit. The guy just joined this month and that is his only post.

Not a single vehixle forum will you go on and not find theres a handful of things to do or watch for on the vehicles. Part of buying used cars.

Welcome! I had been itching for a v8 f150. I had a 1991 4.9l Straight 6 when I joined. Loved the truck but it had to go. Went couple years before getting opportunity to buy an 04-08 so I searched high and low for the right one.

Welcome the the right side. 04-08s the only way to go. No other gen is as downright gorgeous as these right here! I have an 04 XLT scab with 112k. Only problem was a sensor in the gas tank and routine maintenance. I changed my plugs at 110k and only one broke. Enjoy!!!

I have an 04 5.4 Lariat 4x4. I have 202200 miles on her, besides the general maint, tune ups, and timing chain (rebuilt tranny less than 500 miles ago) I have had no issues. I could have avoided a rebuild but plan on keeping her another 200000 miles, preventative maint. is key. Congrats on your truck! KCCO
