J-Mod on a 4R75E

Has anyone done this yet?

I have searched several places on the net and not found a good write up on this.

What is this mod and what does it do?

The J-mod or Jerry's mod is a home made shift kit from the guy that designed the 4R70W and the AOD/AODE transmission.

There are enough differences between the 4R70W and the 4R75E that I don't want to do it blindly......But I know some people have done it already.

Most of the upgrades in the JMOD were factory trans specs by early 2000-2002 timeframe.. the vehicles that benefitted the most were produced in the 90s. Given the most recent years using the 75E I would assume that the most difference would come from different/removed accumulator springs but I would suspect that the majority of the valve body hole modifications are already good enough to provide a decent shift speed with longevity.

I have a J-Mod on my 2003 Marauder with a 4R70W trans., it works great. It dosent control when it shifts but how it shifts and my car is not a 1990's vehicle by far. Check the parts and make shure they will fit and go for it. Go to Alternative Automotive.com and ask for Lidio he is a know all on Ford automatic transmissions and has been doing this for some time now.

I had a feeling that there was some things that might be of benefit by doing this mod.

It was a popular mod on some forums I used to frequent. www.tccoa.com (thunderbird/cougar club of america) They did this mod to their transmissions too. Too daunting for me though. Messing with an automatic tranny looks like brain surgery.
