Default IWE solenoid with cover for $15 @ rockauto made by dorman with a cover

DORMAN Part # 600400 {#6L3Z9E441A, 6L3Z9H465B} 4WD Vacuum and Emissions Purge Solenoid with cover
Category: 4WD Hub Locking Solenoid

Most auto parts stores handle Dorman so should have this part number, if it was in doubt and mine didn't have a cover I would just put it on

Default new shift motor for $102

Looks like Dorman also makes a new shift motor which costs $102 @ rockauto also should be available at local parts stores for a little more but this is a heck of a lot cheaper than my local Ford dealer was wanting for his they quoted me over $300

DORMAN Part # 600911 {#4L3Z7G360BA, 5L3Z7G360A, 8L3Z7G360A}

Thanks forum guys, I just fixed my vacuum solenoid thanks to you'all and that horrible irritating grinding noise went away. I have a 2013 STX 5.0 and they now put the Solenoid on the drivers side, in front of the brake fluid reservoir. ( that general area, pretty much in front of steering wheel. Part cost me 21$ with tax, and Ford wanted 130$just to diagnose, I figured why not at least try and the noise is gone. My old lady was giving me grief, "take it to the dealer", and Im glad I tried it. I just hope that I did not do damage to the hub actuators, they are a bit more pricey, $175 or so per side, and a bit over my mechanic skill level, Im a carpenter by trade. But will look here on how to perhaps attempt a hub inspection , but so far so good no more darn noise.

I will attempt to make some sort of shroud for truck was bought in fall of 2012, so 3 1/2 yr old and the water shorted out the solenoid, I will make something, I wish I could tell what happens under hood at 65 mph in rain, going through puddles, I wonder if any water is coming in from underneath, let the shroud building begin, lol like any good carpenter Im thinking you should put some sort of pitch on it so you can direct water flow
???
