Default left blinkers goin nuts

OK so I can't figure out what is going on with my left blinker. It started blinking fast, with no output to the rear. Front was visible but fast. Checked the fuse did not look blown, but replaced it anyway. I had been towing one of my trailers so I thought maybe that was the issue. Checked the trailer towing fuse for the left turn signal, it also did not look bad. In the process one of the half relays was sort of in the way to easily get to the tiny fuse; so I pulled it. When I replaced everything that didn't look bad to begin with, the turn signal worked. 2 days later, the left signal started doing it again. After checking all the fuses again, they still do not look blown. The right side is working fine. I'm wondering if it is something with the relay I pulled loose. According to the book, the relay that I pulled and then put back in place was for trailer back up lights. I don't know what that would have to do with the left turn signals. Any suggestions would be helpful.

My blinker blinks quick when ever one of the bulbs is out. Just recently i changed my taillights bulbs since my right blinker on the dash was going crazy and the front was also blinking quick, turned out the rear bulb went out.

could be your bulb, is out.

Did you check your blinker fluid? jk i would say it's probably the blinker bulb itself.

Blinker or brake light bulb. Both will cause that.

Probably a bad multifunction (turn signal and wiper) switch.

My left rear turn signal wasnt working and that was the cause of it. About a $300 repair at the garage I took it to.

As stated above, check your bulbs for that directional. This happens to most (all?) Fords when they blow a bulb.

I had a turn signal bulb that caused that. The filament was broken but would be touching paet of the time- bulbs are cheap.

Yep. My blinker was going fast last week. The left one. Changed it out... nothing.
Changed out the brake bulbs, and it fixed it. My brake bulb was out and I never even knew it...

Its by design, when a bulb is out there is less power draw and so the blinker is faster. Its this way on most vehicles.

Not all though. On my '00 Trans Am when a bulb is out the one that works for that side just stays on when you hit the turn signal. Turn light on the dash glows dimly, then stays on bright when you try to use the signal. Happened that way on my '86 Firebird as well. It's make/model dependent how the company wants to go about notifying you that you have a spent bulb somewhere.
