Interior lights don't come on when door opened

The switch that operates the interior light (and outside cargo/ben light) is on the inside door, on the door catch. You have to remove the door panel to get to it.
Assuming these worked before, and have just recently acted up. A console cluster change can also disable the interior lights. Installiong a Lariat or FX2/4 cluster in an XLT or STX will disable the interior lights.

I don't think it would be a ground, simply because wouldn't that effect both doors? Only my driver side is acting up at the moment. I have yet you find any bad splice in the driver side wiring loom, so I'll take a look today at the door sensor and see if I can get it working again if that's the problem.

Took the truck to the mechanic to diagnose whats going on with my lights and lock. He just called me back saying that they need more time to find out whats going on because it appears like it can be something behind the dashboard... So basically, I owe them 120.00 for them to look at my truck to find out it was going to be more time to figure out whats wrong. I know I sound like I'm complaining but dang, what a waste of money to find out nothing...

There’s aplastic kick plate at the bottom of the cab that the bottom of the door covers up when the door closed, the carpet goes under it. Pull that long rectangular scuff or kick plate up clips hold it down. There’s a channel under it that on the passanger side has a wire loom that runs down that channel, I’d have to assume there’s a loom in the drivers side channel also. Look there if you’re in and around the door area looking. Have you looked at a wiring diagram to chase that ground? Can you not just drill a hole & ground it to a new spot? A ground is a ground as long as it’s on raw metal to metal.
but if you have lights flickering, there’s a wire somewhere most likely in that door hinge loom that is a known problem loom due to Ford making it to short when building the truck.
hope this helps.
