Here is a picture of when I got it apart. Clearly the one phaser was replaced at some point. The chains were very loose, and one of the guides were broken. They clearly had been hitting the cover. When I took the chains off my phaser/cam moved. My new chains don't have any marks. So how do I set the timing up right? Any ideas?

I am replacing both phasers anyways. It's not worth the year down again even if one was good. But my main concern now is how to time it when my new chain doesn't have any marks on it.

It has different colored links

None of the links are different colored though I keep reading About the links but they all match. I read if you lay the chain out like so =====| the two on the left side are two of the marked links and the one on the right standing up is the last link that would be marked. Anyone know if this is true?
