Default Instrument cluster repair

If I remove the instrument cluster on a 2004 f150 and send it in to one of those cluster repair places that fix up the solder joints ect, to get the brake light to go off, and the odometer display to come back on. Will the truck still be drivable with the cluster gone?

Does anyone recommend one repair place over another as there seem to be a lot of them offering the service on Ebay.

I’d stay local. It’s easier to deal with people if something were to not beright with the repair.

And yes, you will be able to drive without it. All the info displayed is just living in the onboard comp.
althoygh it’s not recommended driving without knowing how much gas you have, and all the other things (oil level, engine heat...speed)

i have the same problem with my 2006 dash , on mine its the actually pin connector is loose, get yourself a cheap solder kit on amazon and you can re solder the pins on the cluster , takes about 20 minutes to do! ive re done the connections on my old mans truck and its been 6 months no issues

The vehicle is with my daughter out in the Washington DC area. By watching a YouTube video I think she could handle the removal and install of the cluster but beyond that it is not in her skill set to go beyond.
