Default Ignition coil screw stripped

I have a 2006 f150 with 5.4, and when changing the ignition coil one the the hold down screws stripped and the truck is studdering under load on take off, is there anything I can do do replace screw to tighten coil, I think its the loose coil causing the problem. its not the screw thats stripped only the piece where it goes

Tap it out to a slightly larger bolt or install an appropriately sized metal screw. I'm thinking a #12.
While I agree with fixing it of course, I don't think that's the cause of your miss.

I have 2 in an '04 with no bolt holding them in (lost them when replacing them, keep meaning to replace them) and have no issues with them. Some aftermarket COP do not even have hold down holes.

Default Some use tie wraps to temp fix

Put a little anti sieze on them as a preventive . Salt states really get corrosion going .

I'm dealing with the exact same problem. The #5 coil bolt is stripped so we wrapped it with Teflon tape for a quick fix, it ran well like that for about 8 months, now I'm having to go to a larger bolt and replacing the coil because it's not working anymore. Also, in addition to running really rough, the a/c stops working when #5 isn't getting a good connection to the spark plug.
