Default new 2004 owner wet floor.

hello everyone new to the forum and just bought a 04 f150. the other day i got back to my work shop and went to get in my truck and all the windows were fogged. after further inspection the front passanger floor was wet. it rained two days before and some how water got in. i took it back to the dealer and i have an appointment thursday, thats when there water guy is there. i didnt leave any windows open so that is ruled out. i pulled back the carpet in front and it was wet all the way to the frame. now what im looking for is an idea as to what i should ask out of the dealership. i know the damage water can do. it was wet all the way to the back seat. with the carpet and the pad wet should i ask them to replace both of them or just the pad on the passanger side. the driver side seems to be fine. thanks for your time and help.

There was a post on here about leaks. The OP had compiled a list of all possible leaks. It was pretty ridiculous all the places this truck can leak. If you do a Search on AC drain leak, you will find a Ford TSB which shows you how to correct it. If you ran the AC at all, this may pertain to you. Otherwise, do a search for Leaks, can't remember which Ford forum had it, but its worth printing out and keeping for the future...

i had the same problem happen on my 05 explorer, the dealer found that on the firewall passenger side there was a small rust hole that was letting water in, if you just take some dowels and cut them about 4 inches, take the seats out and prop the carpet and pad up for a day or two it should dry out. i hope its something easy to fix.

Maybe the windshield needs removed and re-sealed. I worked at a place that had 2004 & 2005 F150's as service trucks, and a few had that problem with windshield seal leaking.

Passenger floor area wet has come up before on this forum. The places that were found to be the culprit (in no order) are:

1) Third passenger light. Check to see if the wet spot carries over to the back center of truck. If not, go to next suspect area.

2) AC drain tube. This can clog up, causing AC condensation to back flow to passenger side floor area. As mentioned, there's a TSP on this.

3) Behind the battery, there's a rubber grommet that a large wire harness passes through, then travels into the passenger side compartment to the fuse panel area (passenger side kick panel fuse box location). Remove the battery to expose this rubber grommet. use some silicone to seal it up, or replace if it's torn or worn.

Last week when I was vacuuming I noticed the underside of the front passenger mat had condensation.
The floor was not wet, just the rubber underside of the mat.

If you have a sliding glass at the back of the cab, check the seal of the bottom of the glass, by spraying the water hose at it, and watch the water channel all the way under the passenger fuse box. The seal is like 40-50 bucks for all four, so I only replaced the bottom seal and have three extra seals that I didn't want to go through the hassle of changing, pm me for If interested in seals.

I bless the Moon and the Stars that I live on the High Plains, where I am sitting it is 6159 ft, our relative humidity regularly gets down below 10%. Things dry out real fast.
