Idler pulley bolt tab broke off
Guys - while taking off the idler pulleys to change the bearings, one of the screw tabs that sticks out about a half inch broke off. How do I get the rest of it out to change it? Or do I just put the broke piece back on as a spacer and lock it down tight?

What screw tab are u referring to? And you are changing only the bearing? Its alot easier and not much more expensive to just buy a whole new idler pulley. I paid like 15 at auto zone.

Changing whole unit. It is where the bolt screws up to the engine block. The round tab sticks out into the bearing and the screw goes thru it. I still have thread left to screw into. It's just now flush where it broke off.

It's a pic of the tab broken off of the idler pulley mount just above the idler tension pulley. This pulley is stationary. It is supposed to stick out about 1/2 inch to hold the pulley in place then the bolt goes thru to secure.

If it's part of the idler, you just have to get it out. Is try using a hot glue gun first to glue some string to it. Wait till it cools and give it a yank. If that doesn't work you might have to JB Weld a bolt on there and wiggle it out.
